Rebelde Surf School is owned and operated by Juan Carlos Sandino.

Juan Carlos began surfing as a young teen, representing Nicaragua in the 2011 Central American Games and bringing home several local championships. He has gone on to coach national surf champions, judge local and international competitions, and offer his wisdom and instruction to surfers of all levels.

He is recognized and credentialed by the Nicaraguan Surfing Federation and the International Surfing Association (ISA)

    • we analyze the beach before each session (the tides, the wind, rocks, etc.

    • we provide instruction on the beach before getting in the water so you have a basic understanding of surf etiquette, how to get past the break, how to paddle, and how to pop-up

    • If it’s too windy or the waves are dangerous for your level of experience, we won’t go in the water and will reschedule the class

    • we ask for any medical (mental or physical) issues that might effect your experience in the water so we can take appropriate precautions
